Often overlooked, but an essential part of any enterprise's marketing and creative day-to-day, a DAM strategy increases efficiency and streamlines digital asset management. I've helped organizations from brand new start-ups that needed to create a DAM solution from scratch, to legacy corporations with hundreds of thousands of assets needing to modernize their practice.
Each organization I've worked with has unique needs when it comes to Digital Asset Management. I help clients identify what they need from a DAM solution and build a complete strategy from platform analysis to taxonomy, governance and workflow to migration and maintenance.
Where are your assets now? How do you find what you need? What metadata are you storing? How do you manage permissions? The questions can go on and on. Using my discovery method we identify the exact areas for improvement and tailor the DAM to fit their processes and team structure.
Creating a robust taxonomy is the first step in Digital Asset Management. I help clients identify, categorize, and organize their internal language and bridge the gap between the terms they use and what external audiences or end users will understand.
The taxonomy is used to create folders, tagging and metadata structures, and powers search within the DAM platform and/or CMS.
I use this process for CMS taxonomies, internal search, and many other activities.
Understanding who is responsible for what within the DAM is just as important and the structure and taxonomy.
Once the key roles are identified, we work together to create a permissions structure and workflow that will safeguard assets and create efficiencies.
